India's master batsman Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has crossed the 17000 run-mark in his 435th ODI match against Australia. The other legends are all praise for Tendulkar.

When Sachin Tendulkar started his career at the age of 16, he would never have imagined that a day will come when he stops the breath of the entire world for a moment. Tendulkar is the first batsman in the history of cricket who has crossed the 17000 run-mark. He reached this milestone in his 435th match against Australia on 5th November, 2009. The cricket fans who were packed like sardines at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium erupted into a frenzy of joy when the little master touched the giant run-mark.

Sachin Tendulkar has been playing cricket for 20 years and remains as a role model for thousands of young cricketers. He is a 36 year old and he plays the match with the same enthusiasm with which he played at 16. Here is a compilation of what the other cricket legends feel about Sachin and his grand victory of striking 17000 runs in ODIs.

Legends Laud on Tendulkar's Victory

“It’s really a remarkable achievement. He is one of the best cricketers of the world cricket. I have had some good memories with him, having partnered him for years in one-day cricket,” said Saurau Ganguly (Cricbuzz).

“It was one of the amazing games and certainly one of the best innings ever from Sachin. Sachin didn’t play many bad shots today!” said Ricky Ponting (IBN Live).

"He has achieved several records. I hope that he reached 20,000-run mark. Whatever he has achieved, it is nearly impossible to achieve for anyone else. I just wish that he keeps on going and gets more and more runs for India," Wasim Jaffer said (Cricbuzz).

"Sachin has played for 20 odd years and I think its wonderful task by a man who has achieved so much. I congratulate him," said Herchelle Gibbs (Cricbuzz).

"I think the way Tendulkar has handled his career and lasted for so long, keeping his passion for runs alive, is a lesson for budding young cricketers in Pakistan and India," said Javed Miandad (Cricbuzz).

"It's a great achievement. Anyone playing for 21 years is not an easy job, we are proud of him," said Rohit Sharma (Cricbuzz).

“His desire to keep getting better as a player even now is simply great,” said Yuvraj Singh (THE HINDU, Sport).

Tendulkar is Always Modest

When the world praises Tendulkar for his achievement, the master said, “I care about playing for India, it’s a passion and I have been absolutely honored to play for India so long” (Cricbuzz). Long live Sachin’s patriotism and his immense batting potential!
